VX Pro the sport of the future

VX Pro has been threatening to emerge for a couple of years now, its just been a matter of finding the right mix with regards to content and game play, could we entertain people for 2 to 3 hours in a nights league matches where we would probably have 5 Pro throw downs interlaced with kids and family games. Although we didn’t have 3 hours of games when we showed people VX Pro we couldn’t get them to leave they all wanted to see more throw downs or have a go themselves.

Now in the amateur version its toned down quite a bit and ….. but you know, Im rambling on here and you may not know how VX is played so let me explain.
VX is played with a stick that is somewhat like a two ended lacrosse stick, its played on a squash or racquetball court and there are two versions V2 and V4.

V2 is the 1 v 1 version and V4 is 2 v 2, now like all sports the object of the game is to win by scoring more points than your opponent and to score in VX you have to hit your opponent with a ball, nope its not dodgeball .. unlike dodgeball where if you are hit you have to go off in VX if you are hit you raise your hand and look to the referee who points to you and says “play on” and you are straight back into the game, much better than sitting on a bench waiting to get back on again eh!!!

The target area in VX Pro is the whole body which is why the players also wear a helmet and safety glasses, in the amateur version the target is from the shoulders down to the feet and there is no contact other than being hit with the ball but back to VX Pro.

So…. we know that if we get hit we have to look to the referee who say’s “Play on” and we are back in the game, the twist to it (as if throwing a ball at someone out of a stick isn’t twist enough) is that there are multiple balls on court.
In V2 there are 3 balls and in V4 there are 4 balls, this makes for a very fast and dynamic sport where you get little or no respite from game play, there’s no hiding on the court here guys, its full on action. In fact its the best work out you’ll ever have while having fun, (well…. maybe not eh!!). So lets get back to more rules although there aren’t that many.

VX Pro is played in 3 periods of 5 minutes, yeah 5 minutes, its enough an Olympic athlete lasted  a total of 4 minutes it is just so fast, so furious that 5 minutes is enough however we do give the players a 2 minute rest between periods. I think this is enough for now so will leave you with the video below showing the first ever VX Pro Throw down.

There’s more to come on VX Pro but I hope that I have been able to whet your appetite for this amazing sport that is sweeping across the world.

FULL ON!!!!!
